brithday girl

I haven't had my camera handy the last couple of times I've seen little Liesl, so I'm stealing a couple of pictures from Aunt Sada! Sada is a wonderful photographer; everyone should check out her work here!! She also help you make some pretty crafty stuff too! Anyway, hasn't the birthday girl gotten so big!? She is a cutie pie!

happy birthday liesl anne!

Our sweet niece turned one today! We got to watch her eat her first cupcake yesterday and open lots of fun presents! We love her so much! Liesl, here is your first rose. I thought I'd send it through blogland so it doesn't poke you. Come visit soon so you can smell it! But shhhh, don't tell Mom it's pink ;) Happy Birthday!

party time

Here are a few more pictures from our spring break partying! We spent lots of time celebrating Tony and Maureen. We went to another shower hosted by Moe's sister where we put up a fun photo booth, haha. You can see some of the guys and gals we run with here in the NB. I also got invited to spend time with Maureen and her bridesmaides at her bachelorette party. We had a great lunch and spent the afternoon at Dry Comal Creek Vineyard. Lots of fun!

secret garden

Now that we have gate, we can call our garden a secret!! Not so fast our neighbor's dogs say...
I came home today to see our neighbor's dog's ball in our yard and lots of dead plants. We didn't quite have the gate complete and all of our hard work went down the drain ;( We got it put back together for the most part, but we'll have to head back to the Plant Haus tomorrow if things don't look better in the morning.

just throw the ball, Brent

don't drill, throw!

Wow, Brent! You're so handy

Wedding Season

We have been super busy this spring attending wedding after wedding. Three weddings down, one to go. We've also been to a handful of showers and hosted our own this past weekend. We had a blast decorating and cooking for the party. It was so fun to share our home with friends and we even had a bit of dancing on the slab! Here is to the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Tony Presenza!

The happy couple!
yummy chips and dips
a whole lotta stuff happened in this tiny kitchen!!

lady luck

check out this little ladybug on our blooming pear tree!

cow dog

Here we are watching Champ practice his cutting with Gidget, Mom's horse, haha. He loved checking her out and we loved watching Mom ride and play "horsey ride" with all of Aunt Patsy's grandkids!

dog!

Liesl finally started to warm up to Champ this weekend. He is so darn big and wags his tail a bit much, so our sweet girl had been a little timid of him in their first couple of meetings. Finally, she began to clap and cheer Champ on as he played a game of fetch with Brent! She also kept making a funny noise that sounded a tiny bit like dog! Who knows what she was really telling us though!

urban history

Grandma and Grandpa's room (Aunt Katherine's too many years later)
Brent got to go back in time with me a little bit over the weekend. About eleven years ago, my great Aunt Julie sold the 100 year old Urban family estate before she passed. The family that bought it had fun bringing it back to life and putting their own touches on it. They are now selling it, so we got to walk though and take a look. This home was built by my Great Grandfather, Fred Urban. He and his wife raised my grandfather along with 10 other kiddos here!! I have some very fond and vivid memories of this place as I spend quite a bit of time here as a little girl. I spent many days here with my great Aunt Katherine as she took care of me. I had to hold back the tears walking through the halls, but it was a huge blessing for Brent to get to see it! I got photo's of most of the rooms- Six bedrooms, 4 living/dining/sitting rooms, the kitchen and two bathrooms! This thing was built right and will last at least another 100 years as long as someone takes good care of it!

The current owners have kept these photos of Grandma and Grandpa Urban up all these years. Cool huh?
upstairs bedroom
upstairs hallway
untouched laundry room, original paint!
super fun staircase to play hide and seek on
I liked calling this the Christmas tree room
front sitting room
dining room
kitchen, basically untouched except for floor and furniture brought in
my favorite place in the whole house- screened in back porch.
living room where grandma and grandpa both had their final days
my papa's old bedroom!
