Christ is risen from the dead.....

...we are one with Him again, come awake! come awake! Come and rise up from the grave!! This is currently my favorite song! I just love it and the reminder that we are LIVING with Jesus right now and we need to wake up! We had such an amazing Easter weekend our first year being married! We got to spend lots of time with Brent's family and were able to be a part of Tony and Maureen's wedding fun. They were such a beautiful couple and got married at the same spot we did. It was wonderful seeing them commit themselves to the Lord as a couple. I'll post some pictures of them soon! Our Easter was spent with family and friends. We had a brunch with some of our closest friends here in NB and then took pictures of the little ones hunting eggs. They are too cute! Then we traveled to SA to have church and lunch with the Jacobsons. It was a lovely day!
**Teagan took the big group photos. I'll post a few once she sends them!**

urban history

Grandma and Grandpa's room (Aunt Katherine's too many years later)
Brent got to go back in time with me a little bit over the weekend. About eleven years ago, my great Aunt Julie sold the 100 year old Urban family estate before she passed. The family that bought it had fun bringing it back to life and putting their own touches on it. They are now selling it, so we got to walk though and take a look. This home was built by my Great Grandfather, Fred Urban. He and his wife raised my grandfather along with 10 other kiddos here!! I have some very fond and vivid memories of this place as I spend quite a bit of time here as a little girl. I spent many days here with my great Aunt Katherine as she took care of me. I had to hold back the tears walking through the halls, but it was a huge blessing for Brent to get to see it! I got photo's of most of the rooms- Six bedrooms, 4 living/dining/sitting rooms, the kitchen and two bathrooms! This thing was built right and will last at least another 100 years as long as someone takes good care of it!

The current owners have kept these photos of Grandma and Grandpa Urban up all these years. Cool huh?

untouched laundry room, original paint!
super fun staircase to play hide and seek on
I liked calling this the Christmas tree room
front sitting room
dining room
kitchen, basically untouched except for floor and furniture brought in
my favorite place in the whole house- screened in back porch.
living room where grandma and grandpa both had their final days

our MVP

Last Saturday night was quite bittersweet! While we were all so proud and happy for Caleb's honors at this years Trinity Football banquet, we were sad to know it was going to be our last official Trinity function. Yes, we'll all go back for fun alumni events, but it won't be the same. tear. Now, back to Caleb!! He won the team MVP award for the second year in a row! Amazing huh?!? The whole family was there to cheer him on and we had a great evening together. We love you, Caleb!

Christmas vacation 2010!

Well Brent and I just returned from a very fun holiday break where we traveled to see Jerheme, Emily and Liesl in Kansas City and then drove to Nebraska to see all of the Jacobson/Lockwood family. It was so much fun and we both enjoyed not doing much of anything other than sleep, watch TV, eat great food and spend time with family. Christmas day was super fun opening gifts and playing with the baby, and NE was full of white frost making it a great first trip for me! Enjoy the photos!

goodbye summer

We headed north to Denton to visit Nels and Teagan this past weekend. We had a wonderful time hanging out in their new home and not doing much of anything else! We did take a trip to the lake for the pups to run and play. Molly Jane and Jasper didn't quite get why Champ wouldn't stop chasing that silly chicken! It was very nice to get away one last time before school starts back in the morning.
