busy weekend

Last weekend was a very busy weekend for us. We love having productive Saturdays! Clearly PW slept all day (as he usually does) and Champ hid while we "added onto the house for him," but we human family members were very active. Can't wait for a lazy weekend...two more weeks until spring break!

weeding and prepping ENTIRE garden! This is NOT a photo from last year. Talk about major work to be done before this  years garden. This thing was COVERED in weeds. MAJOR WORKOUT (new seeds germinating as we speak!)
Brent burning off TONS of firewood to make room for.....

Champs new PEN!!!!! (he is clearly not happy)
PW wakes up to try and encourage his brother
"I will find my way out of this. Watch me. It will only take one try" -Champ (Yes, he got out the first day. He is a ninja.)

"Good luck, brother. Have fun...I'm going to sit on the front porch."- PW

FINALLY our valentine dinner ;) Really it was just a treat for working so hard, haha. yummy sushi, cheese, guac, and vino!
Prince finally decided to work hard at something... his modeling. He calls this one Blue steal, but we think it's more of a Magnum feel. Thoughts??

This is totally random, but wouldn't our future daughter look ADORABLE in this outfit? One day :)

heart to heart

The way to my heart? I'll take fresh cut roses from our backyard...neatly arranged in an antique milk bottle...centered on an old potato sack...atop an old farmhouse kitchen table!

Brent's heart? Give him a home beer-making kit and he's set.

jealous

Just when I wanted to be sad and jealous that I'm home alone and Brent is working on Valentine's day, I feel a tug at my heart.

Really? Me, be jealous? Of what? There is nothing I need that I don't already have. While it would be nice to snuggle up with my husband, I'm okay with him banking tonight. While I would love to sip on some wine with him, I'm okay eating leftovers alone. While I would love to share dessert with him, I already had plenty of chocolate at school. Brent already told me I was beautiful and kissed me as he walked out of the door this morning. That is all I need.

So tonight...I will go on another date. With someone else who is really jealous right now. With someone who patiently waits for me to get off of the computer, to stop lesson planning, to stop cleaning. No, not the four-legged furballs, although they do deserve some lovin' too! (Happy birthday PW!!!)

But, what a perfect evening to spend with the best Valentine of all. The one who started chasing after me the moment he created me. The one true bridegroom who has stolen my heart. The one who gave it all. My Prince, my King.

If you are sad and lonely tonight because some prince charming forgot all about valentines day, or remembered it yet didn't make today as special as you hoped; listen to this song. Or, perhaps you're sad because you still await your prince charming to show up and carry you away. Either way, we've all wanted love to come and complete us. Bottom line is that only God can do that. Tonight, let Christ be the filling. He is jealous for you and wants your love just as bad as you want to be loved. Let Him be your valentine!!! Curl up with some chocolate or conversation hearts and hear Christ whisper all of those wonderful sweet nothings to you. Get in his word and find out just how much you are loved! That's what I'm off to do!  Enjoy ~ Oh how he loves us

cookies and cards

Let the party begin! We are celebrating Valentines early in Kindergarten so we can have a full "normal" week ahead of us. I just love baking and crafting for my little guys!
