"I hope I make the blog this week" - Brent

...as if he NEVER makes the blog?!?! :) This weeks "what's cookin?" is Brent's delicious fried venison backstrap. It was Brent's first time to ever make it AND eat it, and boy did he love it! There isn't much left of our buck but that is okay. Here is also a pretty picture of our fresh greens from the market. We mixed our carrots in with them and it was super tasty. Up next- steak night with Caleb's nilgai!

Okay, so Shrimp Paesano is probably a little bit better than our Friday night dinner, but not that much! We thawed out some shrimp Wayne gave us a while back and thew in a whole bunch of butter, spices, and pasta and relaxed in our cozy little casa. As you can see, even Prince wanted to check out the delicious smell. He thought if he sat in his own chair like a big boy that he would get some!

So Brent and I have been having some pretty amazing meals lately. We've made some killer stews, yummy pasta sauce, and some juicy burgers thanks to our four legged friend who gave his life for our physical health ;) So glad I married a real hunter who would provide food for the family!!

Pecans anyone?!?

It's been drizzling pecans for the last month or so, and apparently this is only the beginning! We've had fun picking them up and yesterday Brent bought a nut cracker so we could harvest some! He and Champ sat on the porch shelling pecans for about an hour yesterday and we used some to make pecan chocolate chip cookies! The first time I have pulled out my KitchenAid and make cookies in this house!! And as a wife!!! haha
