Surprise!

Well it's not a surprise anymore, but about a month weeks ago we had a few of our NB friends over to tell them that we are going to have a BABY!!! Crazy!! (It was pretty last minute and only called those we knew were home an in town. I was super big on keeping this on the DOWN LOW! So, if you didn't get a call it was because I was super sneaky and knew you weren't home, haha! I also wanted to tell everyone myself ;)!

We told our parents, siblings, and dearest friends first but didn't tell our community and the rest of the world (aka facebook) until after 12 weeks. I really wanted to keep it quite so that I could have the chance to tell my work friends and most importantly the families of my new students. I wanted to be extra sensitive to all of the mommies who were entrusting their babes to me as the new teacher. Well, everyone knows now and everyone is sooo happy! It was the hardest not to tell our community of friends that we see all the time.

The funny thing about this last minute party is that we simply decorated with a few baby things and my ULTRASOUND on the food table. Of course all of the women were making sure the food was set and attending to kiddos. The men started pigging out and Brent and I just sat back and smiled. Finally, someone saw the children's books and asked me if I was trying to get them to donate money to my classroom. Haha...not the sharpest bunch I guess! Just kidding! They all eventually noticed, freaked out, hugged us, rubbed my flat belly, and drank the wine that I so badly wanted!!! Good times all around! Here are just a few random pictures from the evening.

Canyon Lake

I thought I lost these photos, but I just found them! We enjoyed the beautiful home of Jean and Scott back in July. They went on vacation and we watched their sweet puppy and about 1,000 boats go by! We sure had a fun little stay-cation. Here Brent is showing off his skiing stills. Two weeks before we stayed at their home, Scott and Jean took us out on their boat. SO much Fun!

Cousins

We made a mad dash up to Denton last weekend to say adios to Nels, Teagan, and Finn. They will be headed to California at the end of the month so Nels can complete his fire academy program. We are so excited for them and their big adventure. Can't wait to see what doors the Lord opens up for them. We may not see them until January, so we had to go get some hugs and kisses from our sweet Finn. He was only interested in all of the dog toys :)

HELLO OUT THERE!!!

While you have all been so sweet to not ask me why I haven't blogged in over a month, I know you've been stompin' your feet and letting out huge growls every time you head over to see what we've been up to. Sadly, I haven't taken many photos of our life lately. I've been using this summer to completely relax and I wanted to take a short break from blogland. We've had fun catching up with friends and family here in the last few weeks. Summer is coming to an end though, and keeping up with our personal life is what gets me through the school year. So, we're back!

Liesl, Champ, and Tiny wanted to welcome everyone back. We had a fun couple of days hanging out with Emily and Liesl and all of her new dinosaur friends. She really wanted Champ to meet her new friends, but took extra precaution for their big introduction. Liesl was NOT going to let Champ eat her bestie Tiny!!! Tucked safe in her "high-chair" Tiny met Champ. As usual, Champ only wanted his ball!

Whew...it's finally over! I didn't mention much about it, but I was asked to shoot a wedding back in February and I was scared to death. "I will never shoot weddings," was all I could hear myself saying. Well, when your boss asks you to photograph her daughter, you at least think about it ;) After engagements and bridal portraits, I knew the bride and groom would love whatever I handed them. I agreed then begged Brent and Teagan to help me!

The wedding weekend has come and gone and these are probably my favorite shots of the whole night, haha. We had such a blast together. I'm so thankful for the opportunity my principal gave me and double blessed to have had Teag and B there with me. They definitely saved me on several occasions! Thank God for family.


 Perhaps I'll do a few more weddings in my day, it actually wasn't that bad after all. However, I have SOOO much to learn. Gotta start some where though huh?  For a few shots from we three Js, check out Mr. and Mrs. Josh Freeman

Teagan just sent me some more pictures of us with Finn when they visited a couple weeks back. We had just a few minutes to introduce Finn to the Comal River. He seemed to love it! Can't wait for summer vacays with Aunt Molly and Ubba! *WARNING...Nels and B look a bit different in some of the images!
