Reece loves Liesl

Cousin love is oh so sweet. It may not look like Reece is enjoying the company, but don't let this photo fool you. He adores his big cousin Liesl Anne; I just know it! We love spending time with Liesl and her mommy and daddy.

Emily had a busy day last week, so Jerh had Liesl all to himself. I thought getting some one-on-one time with Uncle Jerh would be a fun way to spend Reece's 2 month "birthday." Although Reece napped most of the time, we sure had fun. Liesl showed me their garden, her homemade rope swing, her new patio furniture and she taught Reece how to run! Big day!

mother's day

 If I had time (and energy) I'd write a novel on all of the amazing feelings and emotions I've had the past nine weeks. I know my words wouldn't do God's gift of motherhood justice, so I'll just say that my life is now complete. I have Christ, Brent, and Reece and I can die a happy woman. (and PW and Champer too!!! :)

It was a great first mother's day. Roses, TOMS, and this beautiful babe in my arms all day long. Oh, and steak and bacon wrapped SHRIMP. Score.

Life doesn't get any better than this. I love you, Reece Urban Jacobson.

more prayers

Just when we thought the diapers were an incredible gift, our dear friends George and Cindy knocked our socks off again with a very own personalized prayer book of scripture for Reece. There is nothing more powerful than reading scripture over your child  WITH THEIR NAME IN IT throughout the day. It's pretty much the best way to pass the time while breastfeeding every 2-3 hours!

Cindy actually called me out last week to help her on a "project." I was so excited to see what it was. She had everything typed up and then I got to help her decorate all of the pages with stickers! I felt like a five year old in sticker heaven!

Devotional Diapers

I was blown away at such a thoughtful gift like the one my cousin, Fallon, gave me at our baby shower. Who had ever heard of devotional diapers? Not me, but I love it!! Fallon wrapped sets of three diapers with cute jute string and attached Bible versus on the top of each one. It is super special to pray scripture over Reece in the wee hours of the night while pampering his tush. Someone needs to market this for real. I'd buy those diapers! I love them so much that I've made some for the last two baby showers I've attended. The moms loved them too. Who wouldn't?! Thanks Fallon for this gift and thank you, O Lord, for your Word. May it be seared on Reece's heart right now and forevermore.

I'm 8 weeks old today!!

Reece is eight weeks old today! We had his two-month well visit yesterday. We had it a little early since his doc was headed out of town.

Reece is on some sort of mission, I tell ya! Not sure what he's aiming to do, but whatever it is he will be big and strong for it. He's weighing in at 14.5lbs and 25inches long! Dr. Owens is very happy with Reece's progress. We were all smiles until the very end ;(

"What's that, Mom? They are going to do what to me? AHHHHHH!!!" Oh sweet baby boy, we are so sorry. Please don't lose trust in us. We really do love you so much and that is why we insisted on you be protected from all that junk out there!

Reece meets Baby J

Reece already LOVES his diaper changes due to the black mirror that sits above him. He likes the strong black line right in front of his face. He often gives me his best smiles of the day while I pamper his tush.

Today we stood up and introduced him to his friend, Baby J! It took a couple of moments, but as soon as Reece locked eyes on himself he went nuts. These pictures don't do this little moment justice! It was awesome. There were a few shrieks too!
