beef- it's what's for dinner

Well, sweet BBQ the steer calf finally made it to our dinner plate and boy is he delicious! We Jacobson's are known to eat just meat for dinner from time to time usually because we get lazy and don't want to cook a whole meal. We wanted to welcome BBQ into the home with respect and not share him with anything else with the exception of a glass of wine (and a tad bit of butter!). Well done, Wayne! Oh, and I added an updated garden photo. Isn't it lovely? Next time BBQ will have some chard and squash to join him on the table!

just another day on the ranch

Grandpa Wayne sure was glad to have some help on the ranch. Liesl helped feed the new foal, exercise Too Cool, feed the horses, rope some calves and put the tractor back in the barn! She is a true cowgirl!

girl time

Thank God for spring break and girl time! The best girl time is when you're with your mom and your favorite little girl in the whole wide world. My mom and Liesl got to come and visit me this week. We had tons of fun. We played in the bluebonnets, took Champ for a swim, rode the Landa Park train, fed the ducks, had tons of song and dance, and of course....GIRL TALK!!! :) It was one of those "good for the soul" type of days. Can't wait to do it again!

Pooh had to smell the flowers!

She may not look as ecstatic as she was, but trust me, we could have rode this thing all day long!

Nannie spotted a "horsey" in the tree!

The ducks weren't super hungry, so Liesl decided to soak her toes!

And told Aunt Molly to do the same! **Notice the bread flying backwards by her face.** You'll get there, Liesl!!

"If the ducks aren't hungry then you eat the bread, Aunt Molly!"

Best day ever.

Cat in the Box

Prince's sleeping positions keep getting better and better. I sure hope you have enjoyed the last couple of posts showing how he likes to snooze. This morning I thought there was a GIANT roach trying to get out an empty box we have laying around. I was terrified to go and check it out. Then it stopped, so I tip-toed over to see what was in the box. I think PW wanted to to be celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday too! He just got confused. I need to explain that Thing 1 and Thing 2 are in the box and he needs a tall top hat!
