jacobson photography

Whew...it's finally over! I didn't mention much about it, but I was asked to shoot a wedding back in February and I was scared to death. "I will never shoot weddings," was all I could hear myself saying. Well, when your boss asks you to photograph her daughter, you at least think about it ;) After engagements and bridal portraits, I knew the bride and groom would love whatever I handed them. I agreed then begged Brent and Teagan to help me!

The wedding weekend has come and gone and these are probably my favorite shots of the whole night, haha. We had such a blast together. I'm so thankful for the opportunity my principal gave me and double blessed to have had Teag and B there with me. They definitely saved me on several occasions! Thank God for family.

Perhaps I'll do a few more weddings in my day, it actually wasn't that bad after all. However, I have SOOO much to learn. Gotta start some where though huh?  For a few shots from we three Js, check out Mr. and Mrs. Josh Freeman

totally love teagan and B peeking out from behind the kids

more Finn fun

Teagan just sent me some more pictures of us with Finn when they visited a couple weeks back. We had just a few minutes to introduce Finn to the Comal River. He seemed to love it! Can't wait for summer vacays with Aunt Molly and Ubba! *WARNING...Nels and B look a bit different in some of the images!

The Paynes

I thought you guys would like to see updated family photos of our dear friends, The Paynes. Aren't Bella and Jackson so beautiful!? We love them tons!

bird bath

I was watering our pear tree this morning and decided to get my camera out to play with the water and light. Before I could even get my settings correct, a pair of cardinals were bathing away! They were so stinkin' cute! I had to snap away as fast as I could before they left. Sadly, I didn't get the best exposure, but that's okay. I just know they will LOVE the handmade birdbath my mom is making for us!

smokin' hot!

The summer always brings us surprises!! I'm loving how our backyard smells on these long summer days. Brings back such sweet memories of growing up on the prairie. This fall will be even better. Football + pit goin' = what I love about Sundays!

growing garden

We aren't having to buy too many veggies these days! We love our garden!

So, back in March we tried to sell these bad boys. They were Brent's in the bachelor pad. When we got married, he wanted to bring them over to the house. I told him I wasn't super fond of them, so he let Tony continue to use them for about a year. Then Tony got married and Maureen didn't care for them either, haha. So, they've been in our garage for over a year now just taking up space and collecting lots of dust. I practically tried to give them away for free in a garage sale over spring break and had no takers. Right when B said he'd take them to Goodwill, I promised him that I'd make them real cute one day and then try to sell them for more. Well that day finally arrived. I finally got to experience the amazing Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. It is awesome. No stripping, sanding, or anything. I just painted those bad boys, waxed them, made a couple scruff marks on them for character, waxed them again and BAM, DONE! Well, it did take me about 6 hours to do both, but still not bad. I thought I'd drag them in the house and decorate them in hopes to get someone to reallllllly want them. Guess what?! That someone is ME!!!! Ah, now what am I going to do?!?! For now, I'll just sit and smile at them. They make me so happy ;)
