Family Vacay Part 2: Move over Robert Duvall

Next time Utopia decides to host a major motion film, Reece will be their go-to man! We got up early one morning and decided to have breakfast at the famous Lost Maples Cafe. It was well known long before the hit movie Seven Days in Utopia was filmed, but it's surly on the map now! Reece was snoozing away when we drove up and as soon as the ladies saw him they screamed "Wake up baby!! We can't hold you if you are asleep!" I nearly yelled at them and left, but oh those buttermilk pancakes are sooo good!

Of course, he woke up and then they just had to hold him! The gals literally kept him the entire time. So, instead of being bitter and not enjoying our anniversary breakfast, we laughed and took photos. He finally threw up on them enough that they gave him back, haha. Fun times in Utopia!

Family Vacay Part 1: River Rat Reece

We finally snuck away for our first family of three vacation! We were in search of some much needed family time and wanted to celebrate our third wedding anniversary (CrAzy!). Reece did amazing as we boogied on over to Utopia for a long weekend. We stayed at Jerheme and Emily's cabin and made a couple of day trips to my beloved Rio Frio.

We headed to the river before the sun got too bright and let Reece nap in the car until he was ready for the water. Once he woke up, he LOVED it.  He kicked and splashed and tried to eat every rock he could touch!

It is just as beautiful as I remember. I grew up spending many summer nights around these parts and it was special to have Reece visit the Frio on his first vacation. Let the new tradition begin!

swingin' and swimmin'

Last Saturday we visited Brent's family for the day to celebrate Papa's birthday. We just hung and relaxed all day. We got to visit with Hallie and Cody and hear all about the wedding plans (EEEEEE!!!) and ate delicious steak and birthday cake. I didn't get too many pictures to the whole crew. However, I guess that's okay because it's all about Reece everywhere we go now, haha! Here he is loving the swing and his blow up pool. Thanks, Aunt Chelsie for holding Reece while he splashed and splashed!

Hooray for the Red, White, and Blue!

Reece had a wonderful first Independence Day. We started the day off with a stroll downtown for the parade. We met the Popps there and enjoyed the sights. Then, we headed home for lunch and long nap. Grandpa Wayne joined us and we hung out in the backyard while Brent BBQed. Then we made our long venture to the park for the fireworks. New Braunfels always has an amazing display of them! We met all our buddies there a couple hours early and celebrated America. Reece had such a great time. He was super chill and loved the sparkling dynamite! Happy birthday America!

Reece loves to "air-out" each morning. Wouldn't you if you had a wet diaper on all the time? Had to share the chub. LOVE IT!!!

sweet sophie

Reece is starting to get pretty good with his hand-eye coordination. He's picking up his toys a little more each day. Today I got him on camera! He is practicing hard. Soon, he'll be playing fetch with Champer!

I'm very thankful that Brent is handy with the camera. Thanks for snapping these sweet shots, Babe. :)
