I keep thinking this kid can't get any cuter and with each passing month he proves me wrong. My heart nearly explodes each time I look at his sweet self.
So, last month, Reece turned 15 months old and got a clean bill of health. Both his pediatrician and pediatric pulmonologist were happy with his progress. He's a growing weed weighing 26 lbs and measures 32.5 inches tall (although the nurse measured him as he was totally crooked, but oh well). He's wearing some 18-24 months clothes, but mainly sports 2T items these days. His feet have grown the most! He fits comfortably in a size 7 but needs an 8 in his Nikes. Crazy! I guess when your mom wears an 10 and your dad is a 13, you're gonna have huge feet! In fact, his feet aren't even in the boots you see him wearing in the photo below! Sorry Uncle Nels and Aunt Teag, we didn't get them down in time to wear. Hopefully Baby J #2 can wear them ;)
Reece is pretty much all over the place these days, as usual. He only has one speed and that is FAST. He LOVES to sing and dance and listen to music. We literally have at least two dance parties a day. We've had a fun summer at Schlitterbahn. He's obsessed with water and fearless at the park. He dives head first down the slides and scares me to death. He's Mr. Independent and needs me for nothing (so he thinks!). He's a tender mama's boy to the core though. We love cuddling and reading our afternoons away. He can build a great tower and knock it to the next house. This kid has quite the arm. Champ actually has to chase after his balls these days. Reece is loving basketball, choo-choo trains, his toy tractor, drawing with side walk chalk, and jumping. We've got to get him a trampoline! He jumps on everything and everywhere he goes. He's kinda like a super fast jack rabbit. He is such a big helper. He puts every single diaper in the trash, feeds Champ and PW, and literally sweeps the house every morning. I can't wait for him to master that skill! He loves drinking out of a regular cup, is getting better and better with his fork and spoon, waves hi and bye everywhere we go, and uses great manners saying please anytime he wants something. He's learning to blow kisses and catch a ball himself Oh, and he won't eat a meal without folding his hands to pray. Mom's heart bursts here.
Our goal for the next couple of months is to get him to say some words. Or maybe it should be my goal to understand him because he clearly talks my ear off every moment of the day. He knows every single thing that is said to him, but like his father, he's a man of few words. I'm certain he'll spit out a sentence the first time he decides to say something!
We love you so much Reece. Right behind Jesus, you are the light of our life. We are so thankful to be your parents. Here are some fun 15 month old pictures of you. Everyone says you are so handsome and we couldn't agree more!
